Changes to the Program
|
Version 2.9.9: released November 24,
2004
- Added writing of tags to non avatar RWX
files.
- Added reading and writing of RGB and RGBA
vertex color maps for LightWave LWO2 files. Added reading
of vertex color maps from VRML 1 files. Added reading
and writing of vertex color maps for VRML 2 files. These
additions allow for the reading of Lightscape lighting
solutions stored in a VRML 1 file.
|
Version 2.9.8: released October 22, 2004
- Fixed a problem that crashed the OpenGL
viewer on some computers and displayed a floating point
error message.
- Added writing of animations to DirectX
files.
|
Version 2.9.7: released October 3, 2004
- Revised the handling of material properties
for layers. The "Layers-> Global Attributes"
menu command has now been discontinued.
- Point clouds are saved as particles to
a Maya MA file.
- Regions created in AutoCAD and saved to
a Release 12 DXF file are converted into triangles.
- Added reading of files produced by the
MaxNC digital probe and converting the data to a polygon
mesh.
|
Version 2.9.6: released August 10, 2004
- Added writing (but not reading) of the
prelight command to RWX files.
- Added reading and writing of UV texture
coordinates to 3DStudio ASC files.
- Creating UV coordinates: Added scroll
buttons to adjust texture transform parameters: center,
rotation, scale and translation.
- To identify a layer in the OpenGL window,
move the cursor over the object and the layer name is
shown in the status bar.
- Modified the triangle to quad routine.
|
Version 2.9.5: released July 11, 2004
- Changed method of writing global and batch
layer attributes to *.prefs file.
- Added reading of XGL and ZGL files and
writing of ZGL files.
- Added the option of resetting the Output
Scale Factor to 1.0 on program startup.
- Changes for RWX files:
- Added support for filmstrip textures.
- "Texture Modes Lit" linked
to emissiveRGB from other file formats.
- Default for TextureModes has been set
to Lit when reading files.
- TextureMode command is now read the
same as TextureModes command.
- "MaterialModes Double" and
"MaterialMode Double" commands are now read.
- Comment lines can now be written at
the start of the RWX file.
- For reading RWX files, added support
for quads that are non convex.
- In the 'Adjust Object' module, added a
"Snap To Ground" control which sets the lowest
elevation of the object at ground level (Z = 0).
- Added a new preferences flag: Duplicate
vertices can now either be removed (deleted) or not removed
when a file is read or when merging vertices, edges and
faces. Duplicate vertices and faces should not be removed
from objects that will be used for morphing.
- Added an option when reading 3DS files
to use or not use key frame data to scale, rotate, translate
and clone the polygon meshes.
|
Version 2.9.4: released March 29, 2004
- Setting number of decimal places for writing
files: Added translation for RWX files and UV coordinates
for all files.
- Changes for writing DirectX files. Textures
now display correctly in MeshView by Microsoft.
|
Version 2.9.3: released March 17, 2004
- Added a routine to reduce the number of
polygons in an object. The routine is based on code by
Stan Melax.
|
Version 2.9.2: released February 24,
2004
- Text to 3D module now supports both single
byte and two byte Unicode TrueType fonts.
- Saving of avatars to RWX files was changed
so that the pelvis is centered at the origin and the
lowest elevation of the avatar is set at ground level.
|
Version 2.9.1: released February 16,
2004
- Added writing of X3D files.
|
Version 2.9.0: released February 8, 2004
- The wildcard characters ( * and ? ) can
now be used with file names in the batch conversion module.
- RWX files: Added read and write support
for the 'AddMaterialMode Double' and 'RemoveMaterialMode
Double' keywords.
- Added the optional display of the view
/ camera axes
- Added a function to divide every triangle
on a layer into either 3, 4 or 6 triangles.
- Landscapes: Added support for CDED DEM
files and MicroDEM MD files. A custom bitmap is now used
in place of Windows OS bitmaps for large landscape bitmaps.
Landscapes can now be displayed using the OpenGL viewer.
The colors used for displaying the 2D contour map are
also displayed on the 3D view of the landscape. OpenGL
viewer displays texture maps on the landscape. UV coordinates
can be saved to the 3D file formats that support them
and are saved when the landscape is converted to a 3D
object.
- Batch Conversion: the last file type selected
for adding files is stored in the preferences file.
- Creating UV coordinates: Vertex normals
are now automatically calculated. Added some options
for planar mapping.
- Custom colors defined in the 'Windows
Color' dialog are now saved in the preferences file.
